NATO shadows WBAMC’s holistic approach

An electronic medical device designed to relieve anxiety, insomnia and depression transmits currents through attachments on the earlobes of a Soldier while auricular acupuncture stimulates areas on the ear during an alternative medicine treatment session at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center Interdisciplinary Pain Management Clinic, Feb. 11. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization completed a five-year study regarding the use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine on troops through a multi-country task force that shadowed the holistic approach WBAMC has had in place since 2003.
