NAMRU South Virology Surveillance Efforts Against Dengue

LIMA, Peru (August 05, 2024) Patricia Galvan, a medical research technician with U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU) SOUTH, processes a real-time PCR of Dengue Santiago as part of the Febrile Surveillance Study. Part of the Navy Medicine Research & Development enterprise, NAMRU SOUTH conducts research on a wide range of infectious diseases of military and public health significance and supports Global Health Engagement through surveillance of those diseases, including dengue fever, malaria, diarrheal diseases and antimicrobial-resistant infections.
