(SAN DIEGO)-- Surrounded by hospital staff and family, two happy parents proudly display their New Year baby. Naval Medical Center San Diego welcomed its first newborn of the year on Jan. 1, 2016, at 3:54 a.m. Weighing in at six pounds, 11.9 ounces, Lucas John Squires was 49 centimeters long. Baby Lucas was proudly introduced to the world by his mother, Lisa G. Irwin (left-front), and Father, Joshua D. Squires (right-front). Both currently serve on active duty in the U.S. Navy.
