September is suicide prevention month and wrestling my own demons for nearly two months recently got me thinking about how powerful those dark thoughts can be. How difficult it can be to move past a setback. Capt. Christina Pierce (left), JRTC and Fort Johnson Command Surgeon, called me everyday to check on me (right) after my injury as I struggled with my mental outlook on life. Her encouragement and friendship reminded me I was not alone.
