Navy Passes the Warrior Games Torch to Air Force
CHICAGO (July 8, 2017) Vice Adm. Mary Jackson (left) passes the Warrior Games Torch to Lt. Gen. Gina Grosso, who will be in charge of the 2018 Department of Defense Warrior Games. Also pictured is Team Air Force Heart of the Team award recipient Staff Sgt. Vincent Cavazos. The Heart of the Team award is given to the athlete who most exemplifies camaraderie and team spirit. The DoD Warrior Games are an annual event allowing wounded, ill and injured service members and veterans to compete in Paralympic-style sports including archery, cycling, field, shooting, sitting volleyball, swimming, track and wheelchair basketball.
