SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (Nov. 04, 2017) Lt. j.g. Randi Acheson, neonatal intensive care unit nurse, and Hospitalman Aaron Lestourgeon, both from Naval Medical Center Portsmouth embarked aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort (T- AH 20), take footprints from Isaias Valerio-Fonseca. Valerio-Fonseca is the first U.S. male baby boy born and the first cesarean section on the ship since arriving in Puerto Rico. Comfort is moored pier side in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to provide humanitarian relief. The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of- government response effort.
